Kirbyville School District | Secure Entrances
Secure entries were added at Kirbyville Elementary School and Kirbyville Middle School to improve safety and visitor control for the Kirbyville School District. At the elementary school, the existing lobby was divided to create a secure vestibule, and the reception area was reconfigured to improve storage and access while allowing staff to control entry into the building. At the middle school, a new secure vestibule was added because the existing layout could not accommodate one within the current footprint. This addition extended above the existing entry canopy to form a new entry tower with clerestory windows that provided daylight and served as an evening beacon. At both schools, visitors remained within the secure vestibule, where security windows allowed staff to communicate with visitors and receive items without granting access to the rest of the school.
