Job Captain | Northwest Arkansas

A Job Captain position is a good fit for an experienced architectural designer who likes making sure all the pieces of a project actually come together. To succeed as a Job Captain at Paragon Architecture, you’ll need to be comfortable moving between design, documentation, coordination, and team leadership—sometimes all in the same day. You’ll help create the internal rhythm of the project, making sure deadlines are visible, information is moving, consultants are coordinated, and the team knows what needs to happen next.

Think of yourself as the person keeping the project engine running. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager to translate the bigger project plan into day-to-day action, anticipating issues before they become problems and knowing when something needs to be elevated for a decision. You’ll remain hands-on in design and documentation while helping guide Project Coordinators and Project Administrators through the work. Quality project execution relies on teamwork, accountability, communication, creativity, and organization at every phase and in every detail. If you enjoy keeping an eye on the big picture while bringing order to all the moving parts, we’d like to hear from you.

Applicants must have earned a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Architecture or relevant equivalent.

WHO WE ARE
Paragon Architecture is an architecture and interior design firm built on the foundation of FAMILY, RELATIONSHIPS, COMMUNITY, INTEGRITY, and SERVICE. We strive to make a positive impact in our communities on and off the clock. With 16+ years since Paragon got our start, we’ve built a reputation for having a service inclination, generating repeat clients, delivering effective design solutions, and cultivating one of the best companies and teams to work for in the region.

HOW WE WORK
We value the premise that each project is unique and driven by client goals, design opportunities, and unique challenges. Design teams work in a lively and interactive environment with access to modern technology and software programs. Creative design solutions start and end with the project teams, and you aren’t just asked to carry out the vision of a principal who is looming over your shoulder – that sounds awful. We rely on design charettes in our process to promote participation at all levels of the firm while bringing multiple ideas and perspectives to the table.

WHERE WE CALL HOME
We have offices in Springfield, Joplin, Kansas City, and St. Louis, Missouri, and Fayetteville, Arkansas, with our headquarters in downtown Springfield, MO. Our offices are purposely not in the suburban office park, but in the vibrant walkable downtown environments – we believe it’s another place where we can impact our communities for the better. Paragon Architecture has continued to grow since its inception in 2010, and our reach continues to increase year after year. Our four locations afford us the opportunity to provide architectural services to an array of clients throughout the entire state of Missouri, as well as Northwest Arkansas and other neighboring states.

ABOUT OUR BENEFITS
Paragon Architecture places emphasis on professional growth and supports learning through continuing education opportunities. Health, dental, vision and supplemental benefits are offered for eligible full-time employees as well as a 401k plan, paid holidays, and a generous PTO policy. We can also relate to needing some time to reset (after the holidays, especially), so our offices are closed from Christmas to New Year’s Day. Paragon has a distinctive sabbatical program, as well as health and wellness challenges and incentives that are unique to Paragon. Informal learning opportunities are combined with social time at weekly virtual gatherings, monthly celebrations, and seasonal events that provide time for folks to get to know each other better outside of their work on projects.

ABOUT THE PROJECT COORDINATOR POSITION:

Job Captains play a key role in the day-to-day execution of projects, coordinating team efforts, maintaining project momentum, and helping ensure design and documentation progress toward established milestones. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive problem-solver who can anticipate what comes next, communicate effectively with team members and consultants, and balance hands-on architectural work with responsibility for keeping the team aligned. This full-time position requires a bachelor’s degree in architecture; licensure is not required.

REQUIREMENTS:
